Wednesday, July 24, 2019, at approximately 7:00PM, a resident of South Union Street reported the theft of a bicycle. The victim reported to bike was on his front porch and secured with a lock and cable. The cable was cut and the bike taken during the night time hours. The bike is described as a white and blue Takara Nobu Fat Bike. PTL. Lauren Balaity is investigating.

Friday, July 26, 2019, the Hunterdon County Prosecutors Office and Lambertville City Police announced the arrest of Hermila Rojas, a 47 year old female from Coryell Street Lambertville. Ms. Rojas was arrested and charged with one count of fourth degree child abuse and one count of simple assault, a disorderly person offence. An investigation by the Hunterdon County Prosecutors Office Special Victims Unit and the Lambertville City Police revealed that Ms. Rojas had physically abused a child under her care.

Friday, August 02, 2019, a business on Lambert Lane reported the shoplifting of a statue from the front of the business. The statue is described as being approximately 1.5 feet tall and depicts a small boy holding a lunch box. PTL. Joseph Weber is investigating.

On Wednesday, August 07, 2018 at approximately 8:30AM, DET Matthew Bast conducted a motor vehicle stop of a 2013 Buick Verano. A check revealed the vehicle was reported as stolen from Union Township NJ. The vehicle was impounded and secured until it can be returned the owner. DET Bast is investigating.

Monday, July 22, 2019, at approximately 1:50AM, Ian R Antolik a 27 Y/O male from Calumet Street in Philadelphia PA, was arrested by SGT. Michael Gramlich after a motor vehicle stop revealed that Antolik was in possession of a controlled dangerous substance. Antolik was charged with Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Operating an Unregistered Vehicle. Antolik was released and given a court date of 08/01/19 at 5:00PM.

On Saturday, July 20, 2019 at approximately 2:00AM, River Hart a 20 Y/O male from Mercer Street in Hopewell NJ, was arrested by LT. Robert Brown after a motor vehicle stop revealed that Hart was under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance. Hart was charged with Being Under the Influence of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, Failure to Turn Over a Controlled Dangerous Substance to Police and Speeding. Hart was released and given a court date of August 07, 2019 at 1:00PM.

On May 24, 2019 PTL. Clark investigated the theft of a package that was delivered to the Heritage Village Apartments, located on Brunswick Avenue. The victim stated that she was advised her package had arrived; however, when she went to retrieve the item it was no longer in the mail area. Investigation revealed that Regina Weir, a 60-year-old female from Brunswick Avenue, had taken the package. PTL Clark issued Weir a summons for Theft of Movable Property. Weir was given a court date of July 17, 2019 at 1:00PM.

On Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at approximately 4:50 PM, DET. Bast conducted a motor vehicle stop on Liliann Kraus, an 18-year-old female from Hoover Drive in Mays Landing NJ, for speeding. Kraus was found to have an active traffic warrant issued by Mullica Hill Municipal Court in the amount of $250.00. Kraus was escorted back to Police Headquarters were she was processed for the arrest. Kraus was issued motor vehicle summons for Speeding, and Failure to produce proof of vehicle registration. Kraus was able to post the $250.00 bail and was released.

On Saturday, June 29, 2019, at approximately 1:30AM, SGT. Memolo investigated a suspicious vehicle located behind 25 South Union Street. The male occupant, David Miller, a 39 year old male from Easton Road in Ottsville PA, was found to have an active traffic warrant with a $2000.00 bail issued by the Delaware Valley Joint Court. Miller was taken into custody and transported back to Police Headquarters were he was processed for the arrest. Miller was unable to post bail and was subsequently transported to the Hunterdon County Sheriff’s Department.

On Saturday, June 29, 2019, at approximately 2:50AM, Sgt. Memolo responded to State Highway 179 for a reported possible intoxicated male causing an issue on Bridge Street. Upon investigating the incident, Sgt. Memolo caught the male, Mark Walczak, 24, in the act of going through items of a resident’s unlocked vehicle on Route 179. Walczak was unknown to the resident. Walczak was arrested and charged with Defiant Trespassing and Disorderly Conduct. He was later released with a pending court date.

On Friday, July 05, 2019, at approximately 11:05 PM, DET Matthew Bast conducted a motor vehicle stop on a 2016 Nissan Sentra on State Highway 179. The driver, Dillion Ferguson a 28 Y/O male from Old York Road in Ringoes NJ was found to be intoxicated. Ferguson was arrested and his vehicle towed. Ferguson was charged with Driving While Under the Influence, Failure to Keep Right, Careless Driven and Operating a vehicle with an Expired Registration. Ferguson was released to a friend and given a court date of July 17, 2019 at 1:00PM.

Matthew Bast charged Christopher Pidgeon, a 44 Y/O male from North Union Street Lambertville with a Special Complaint Summons for Discharge of an Explosive Device after he admitted to setting off “Mortar” style of fireworks. Pidgeon was given a court date of July 17, 2019 at 1:00PM.

On Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at approximately 8:45PM, PTL. Joseph Weber charged Lori Messinger, a 56 Y/O female of Church Street in Lambertville, with a Special Complaint Summons for Possession of an Open Container of an Alcoholic Beverage in a Public Place. Messinger was observed in possession of the container as well as being intoxicated. Messinger was given a court date of July 17, 2019 at 1:00PM.

On Saturday, June 08, 2019 at approximately 10:20PM, DET. Matthew Bast observed a suspicious occupied vehicle in the parking lot of the Sunoco gas station after the business was closed. DET. Bast conducted a check of the vehicle and driver. The driver, Amber Updike a 27y/o female of Gilmore Road in Trenton, advised DET. Bast she was there to fill her tires with air. While speaking with Updike, DET. Bast noted the strong odor of marijuana emanating from within the vehicle. When questioned about the odor, Updike turned over a clear plastic bag containing suspected marijuana. Updike was charged for the possession of marijuana and given a court date of June 19, 2019 at 1:00PM.

On Sunday, June 16, 2019 at approximately 9:50PM, DET. Albani was detailed to Kline’s for a hit and run accident. Witnesses reported a silver Honda struck a parked vehicle and left the scene. DET. Albani located the vehicle and the driver, Carlos Garcia a 29 y/o male from South Franklin Street Lambertville, several blocks away. Garcia was found to be intoxicated and arrested. Garcia was charged with DUI, Reckless Driving, Careless Driving, Leaving the scene of a crash, Failure to report a crash and being an Unlicensed Driver. Garcia was processed for the arrest and released to a friend with a court date of June 19, 2019 at 1:00PM.
