CASE #20004478

On Sunday May 31st, at approximately 1948 hours, officers were called to the Lambertville Free Public Library for a reported burglary.

Ptl. Allen Wurpel and Sgt. Anthony Memolo responded and found that a glass door had been shattered by a rock and entry had been made into the library through the broken door. The officers conducted a search of the building and found the suspect in a stairwell inside the rear of the building.

The suspect was identified as Michael Sailer, 29, who is from the Lambertville area but with no fixed address. Sailer was also allegedly found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. It is believed the defendant broke in looking for quick cash.

Sailer, who is already on probation for and unrelated offense, was charged with Burglary, Criminal Mischief and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was lodged in the county jail in lieu of bail

The Police Department continues to have extra patrols on the Towpath (State Parks) and Bridge Street to enforce the Governor’s Executive Orders.
