On Friday, June 29th at 0935 hours, the summer camp director reported vandalism to the Ely Field playground.  Broken glass was discovered in the gazebo along with two picnic benches that were overturned.

On Thursday, June 28th, at approximately 2156 hours, patrol was detailed to York Street for a report of a fallen tree, leaning on power lines with active fire.  While waiting for the electric company’s arrival, wires had snapped causing a loss of power in the area.

On Friday, June 29th at approximately 0407 hours, Officer Kyle Czerniak was refueling at the Public Works garage and noticed an active fire.  Upon entering the gate, he confirmed that two City garbage trucks were on fire and fully involved.  The cause of the fire was determined to be electrical, non-suspicious.  The trucks were parked very close, which caused both to catch on fire.

On Friday, June 29th at approximately 2106 hours, Officer Lauren Balaity was detailed to Swan Street for a report of a stolen vehicle. A 2007 Toyota Sienna minivan was parked in the driveway, the key was inside the unlocked vehicle.  The reporting part last saw his vehicle in his driveway at 0630 hours.  Upon returning home at 2100 hours, he noticed the van was gone.

On Saturday, June 30th, Sgt Anthony Memolo recovered the stolen vehicle in the parking lot of Big Bear Natural Foods, on N. Union St.  The vehicle was processed for prints.  Detective Vincent Albani is investigating.
