Update: The Route 29 Road Improvement Plan Press Conference that was previously scheduled for August 21st is canceled and will be rescheduled at a later date. The work by NJ DOT to begin the re-striping and other traffic calming measures will begin on schedule, and the City anticipates crews to be out beginning on Wednesday August 21st, weather permitting. 



The City of Lambertville, in partnership with the New Jersey Department of Transportation, is committed to making the streets of Lambertville safer for pedestrians and drivers alike.  The Route 29 Road Improvement Project aims to improve safety on Lambertville’s major artery by reducing the number of lanes on Route 29 from four to two. 

PHASE 1:  Re-striping

Planning: The Governing Body of the City conducted an open dialogue with the community to hear concerns, ideas, and opinions. COMPLETE

Permitting:  Project ownership has transferred from the City of Lambertville to the NJDOT.  Necessary permits and work orders being put in place so that work can begin CURRENT POINT

Construction: Beginning at the kickoff press conference on August 21st at 11am NJDOT will adjust and repaint Route 29 from the intersection of South Swan Street (north) to 351 South Main Street (Golden Ratio Acupuncture).
