CASE # 19004524 

On Friday, May 24, 2019, at approximately 11:15 Am, LT. Robert Brown responded to the Heritage Village apartment complex in Lambertville for a report of a theft.  The victim reported that she had a package containing a fan valued at $50.00 delivered to her residence.  The building manager placed the box inside the “Main room” then advised the victim of the package location.  When the victim went to retrieve her item at approximately 12:10PM, the package was missing.  LT. Brown and PTL. Tyler Clark are investigating. 

CASE #19004517

On Friday, May 24, 2019, at approximately 1:45AM, PTL. Joseph Weber observed a white Toyota stopped in the left lane of Route 29 north near Weeden Street.  The vehicle was running and the drive appeared to be sleeping in the vehicle.  Investigation revealed that the driver, Gregory Michels, a 50 year old male of Brunswick Avenue in Lambertville was intoxicated.  Michels was taken into custody and processed for DUI.  Michels was issued summonses for Driving while intoxicated, Refusal to submit to breath testing, Obstructing traffic and Operating an unregistered vehicle.  Michels was given a court date of June 06, 2019 at 5:00PM at the Lambertville Municipal Court and released.

CASE #19004100

On Thursday, May 9, 2019 at approximately 10:33AM, PTL Lauren Balaity was conducting registration inquiries; one which resulted in the registered owner’s D/L being expired.  A motor vehicle stop was conducted on Coryell Street.  Upon asking for credentials, the officer detected the odor of raw marijuana.  The driver was identified as Elvis Hernandez, 20 YOA, of Lambertville. 

The officer inquired if there was marijuana in the vehicle, to which the driver stated yes.  He produced a bag  and a blue glass jar from the vehicle, containing suspected marijuana.  Hernandez also stated he had “bongs” in the vehicle.  Upon searching, various drug paraphernalia was found.

Hernandez was transported to HQ and processed for the arrest.  He was charged with Possession of CDS U/50, and Possession of Paraphernalia and released ROR pending court. 

CASE # 19004472

On Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at approximately 12:00AM, while on routine patrol, Det Matt Bast noticed a rear license plate that was not illuminated on a vehicle failing to keep to the right, traveling past him.  A motor vehicle stop was conducted on Rte. 29 South.

The Detective made contact with the driver, Andrew Bowman, 22 YOA of Trevose, PA.  During the stop, an odor of raw marijuana was emitting from the vehicle.  The odor was heavily masked with the scent of cologne, also emitting from the vehicle.

Upon speaking with the driver, he revealed there was one to two ounces of “weed” in his backpack, located in the back seat.  Bowman retrieved his backpack and turned over the CDS and a digital scale.  Additional paraphernalia was confiscated from within the vehicle.

Bowman was then transported to HQ and processed for the arrest.  Bowman was charged with Possession of Marijuana Over 50 Grams,  Use/Possess With Intent to Use,  Possession of Marijuana and Digital Scale Commonly Used Together to Distribute to Others.  Bowman also received summons for Maintenance of Lamps, Failure to Observe Traffic Lanes and Possession of CDS in a Motor Vehicle.

Bowman was released ROR pending court.
CASE #19003999

On Sunday, May 05, 2019, at approximately 4:00PM, PTL. Tyler Clark conducted a motor vehicle stop of a vehicle being driven by Duane Landsperger (a 45 year old male from Limerick Lane in Phillipsburg NJ).  During the vehicle stop it was learned that Landsperger had an active traffic warrant for his arrest issued by Newark NJ for failure to appear in court.  Newark Police Department authorized Landsperger to be released ROR and given a new court date.  PTL. Clark also issued Landsperger motor vehicle summons for driving while suspended and improper tires with a mandatory court date of May 15, 2019 at 1:00PM.

LCPD Case # 19003150

Thursday April 25th, 2019

Andrew Kuphal (20-Flemington NJ) was formally charged with 3rd degree theft, resulting from an investigation conducted by Detective Bast. The investigation led to Kuphal as a suspect, due to his involvement as a baby-sitter within the household. The 3rd Degree charge is a result of the $3,800 cash which Kuphal is accused of taking from a residence on Holcombe Way in Lambertville. He was charged and released pending his first appearance in Superior Court. He is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
APRIL 25, 2019 – MAY 05, 2019

CASE #19003781 On Sunday, April 29, 2019, at approximately 3:00PM, Detective Vincent Albani responded to a residence on Lincoln Avenue for a report of a theft. The homeowner reported that sometime between Saturday, April 20, 2019 and Sunday, April 28, 2019 someone removed a Cub Cadet walk behind mower from the rear of the property. The homeowner estimated the value of the mower to be approximately $200.00. Det. Albani is investigating.

CASE #19003832 On Wednesday, April 30, 2019 at approximately 11:35AM, Sergeant Michael Gramlich responded to a business on Bridge Street in reference to a shoplifting complaint. The business owner reported that 2 diamond and gold rings were taken from a display case sometime between Friday, April 26, 2019 and Wednesday, April 30, 2019. The business owner estimated the total cost of both rings to be $3600.00. SGT. Gramlich is investigating.

On Tuesday, April 02, 2019, at approximately 9:25AM, PTL. Balaity conducted a motor vehicle stop of a 2004 Honda Civic.  The driver, Stephen Joseph Haydu, a 57 year old male from Linton Avenue in Bensalem PA, was found to have an outstanding arrest warrant issued by the New Jersey State Police for $315 for failure to appear.  Haydu was arrested and transported to police headquarters to be processed.  Haydu was charged, Speeding Driving while Suspended and being an Unlicensed Driver.  Haydu posted the $315 bail and released.  Haydu was given a court date of April 24, 2019.

Tuesday, April 09, 2019 at approximately 4:00PM, a resident of Holcombe Way reported that approximately $4000 was missing from her residence.  A suspect has been identified and DET. Bast is investigating.  

CASE #19003572
Sunday, April 21, 2019, at approximately 11:30AM a resident of Coryell Street reported that his 2013 Dodge Avenger had been damaged over the night.  The subjected reported that the vehicle appeared to have been “Keyed” on both windows.  PTL. Wurple is investigating.
