On Sunday, April 30th at approximately 1700 hours, officers were called to the area of Brunswick Avenue for a report of a dispute. One of the involved parties, Noel Lopez, 26 YOA of Lambertville, was determined to be intoxicated and causing a disturbance.

He was advised to leave at the request of the homeowner, however, approx. 10 mins later he returned and called 9-1-1, on himself. Sgt Memolo arrived on scene and arrested Lopez for Defiant Trespassing. While being taken into custody, Lopez attempted to resist arrest, and as a result, he was additionally charged with resisting arrest and failure to obey a lawful order. He was later released, pending court.

On Friday, May 5, 2017 at approximately 1520 hours, Officer Weber was detailed to Jefferson Street, for a report of a burglary.

Upon arriving home, the owner went upstairs to her bedroom, where she noticed the door was ajar. When she entered, she observed the room to have been ransacked. Several items were strewn about.

The owner entered the kitchen to use the phone, and discovered that the rear door had been kicked in.

Detective Albani is investigating.

On Saturday, May 6, 2017, at approximately 0925 hours, I was detailed to 85 Clinton Street for a reported theft from a motor vehicle. On arrival, Patrolman Bast met with the victims, who stated sometime overnight someone entered their unlocked vehicle and stole loose change from the center console. They stated that their center console storage area was rifled through and left ajar.

This agency is currently investigating multiple vehicle burglaries. Residents are reminded to keep their vehicles locked.

On Sunday, May 7, 2017, at approximately 0028 hours, Lt Brown conducted a motor vehicle stop on Rte 29 for a vehicle that failed to keep right on the multi-lane highway.

Upon requesting credentials, a suspected marijuana cigarette was observed in the ashtray of the vehicle; along with a strong odor of burnt marijuana emitting from the interior of the vehicle.

Robert Ireland, 27 YOA, of Ringoes, NJ, was arrested for Possession of Less Than 50 Grams of Marijuana, Possession of CDS in a Motor Vehicle and Failure to Keep Right. Ireland was released, pending court.

Suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law
