Tens of thousands of New Jersey children, many of them living right here in our community, rely on school meals to get the nutrition they need to be healthy, to learn and thrive. In the summer, when school is not in session, these children lose access to those meals.

Kids who receive free- and reduced-price meals during the school year come from families already struggling to get by. When school is out for the summer and parents have more mouths to feed during the day life gets even tougher; forcing many parents to choose between paying rent and utilities and buying food. Fisherman’s Mark is partnering with the City of Lambertville to end childhood summer hunger in our community through FLY, the Feeding Lambertville Youth, initiative.

For less than three dollars per day per child, we have been providing our at-risk children a delicious, nutritious bagged lunch since June 24th.  They are prepared and packed by our wonderful youth volunteers - at no cost to the family -  and we will continue providing them for the entire summer vacation. Lunches can be picked up at the Ely Field Gazebo at 12:30 or the Lambertville Public Library.

We’re off to a great start!
