During the past several weeks numerous unlocked cars belonging to residents have been entered by person(s) unknown. Cash and personal property, such as wallets containing drivers’ licenses, other forms of identification and credit cards were stolen. In five cases, the vehicle keys were also left in the cars and the vehicle was stolen.

Each of these crimes could have been avoided had the vehicle owners simply locked cars doors and secured keys and other property inside residences.

Residents are once again reminded- for your own as well as others personal safety and security, please lock vehicles and do not leave any property within vehicle in plain sight of by passers! Also secure your homes and apartments by simply locking entry doors. These simple measures will go a long way towards preventing you from becoming an easy target for criminals.

Although Lambertville is a wonderful city with a very low rate of crime, no place is immune from criminal activity. Let’s not make it easy for the bad guys-please lock your doors!
