At Elizabethtown Gas, we are continually improving the natural gas pipeline system that brings safe, reliable natural gas to our customers. These improvements provide increased safety, reliability and lower operating costs, while supporting the local economy by providing jobs. We are happy to share the significant progress made on two active projects in the City of Lambertville. Maps of the project areas and impacted streets can be found at www.elizabethtowngas.com/neighborhood.

Clinton Street Project (including Buttonwood Street, Clinton Street, Delaware Street, Delevan Street, Jefferson Street, N. Union Street, and York Street)
  • All aging gas mains have been replaced.
  • Approximately 97 percent of service lines from the gas main to homes and businesses have been upgraded.

North and South Main Street Project (including Bridge Street, Church Street, Coryell Street, George Street, Klines Court, Mount Hope Street, N. Main Street, N. Union Street, S. Main Street, S. Union Street, Swan Street, York Street)
  • All aging gas mains have been replaced.
  • Approximately 80 percent of services lines from the gas mains to homes and businesses have been upgraded. Most of the remaining upgrades are located on Bridge Street and N. Main Street. Bridge Street upgrades will begin Monday, May 14, 2018, with an approximate completion date of Tuesday, May 29, 2018. Customers will receive a notification from Elizabethtown Gas regarding the projected dates for the N. Main Street upgrades, once this information becomes available. Our contractor, Skoda Contracting, will contact customers on Bridge Street and N. Main Street to schedule an appointment to complete the service transfer.
  • Pending the availability of our customers to schedule the remaining service transfers and weather conditions, we estimate this phase of the project to be completed by the end of June.

Road Repaving

After completion of all service line upgrades, the projects will enter into the final phase of construction - restoration. Our contractor uses temporary asphalt patches on roadways until permanent asphalt restoration can be completed. Temporary asphalt must settle prior to final pavement restoration. As a result, we anticipate final paving will take place in the beginning of October (weather permitting). All roadways impacted by our pipeline replacement projects will be restored at that time, with the exception of Clinton Street. Clinton Street will be paved as part of the city’s road improvement program, which has already begun. Residents within the project areas will receive notices prior to paving with information regarding dates and times of scheduled paving.
